Ethical Charter

The LawManage
Ethical Charter

LawManage was created with a simple belief: Technology should strengthen the legal profession, not undermine it.

Lawyers carry significant responsibilities – to their clients, to the courts, and to the rule of law. As legal technology evolves, those responsibilities must remain protected.

The LawManage Ethical Charter guides how we design our technology, how we work with the profession, and how we grow.

1. Ethical Data

Your data belongs to you – and to your clients. LawManage will never treat client information as a commodity.

We commit to:

  • Never holding your data hostage
  • Never selling client data
  • Never mining legal data for commercial exploitation
  • Collecting only the information necessary to deliver our services
  • Protecting information with secure infrastructure and best-practice safeguards

Our role is simple: to provide tools that help lawyers work better – not make them redundant or to profit from their client information.

Trust is fundamental to legal practice. Our technology respects that.

2. Ethical AI

Artificial intelligence is powerful, but in the legal profession it must be used responsibly. At LawManage, AI is designed to assist lawyers, not replace them.

Our AI tools are built to:

  • Help lawyers draft and structure legal documents
  • Support workflows and reduce administrative burden
  • Allow lawyers to focus on strategy, advice, and client care

We will not build AI systems that:

  • Replace lawyers from human-centric practices
  • Produce unchecked legal advice or opinion
  • Encourage “set and forget” automation in legal matters
  • Train on confidential client data without permission

Lawyers remain responsible for legal advice and professional judgement. Technology should enhance professional skill – not diminish it.

3. Knowledge & Partnership

The legal profession is built on expertise developed through years of practice. LawManage respects that knowledge.

We are not here to harvest expertise or take advantage of the profession. Instead, we believe in genuine collaboration with those who understand the realities of legal practice.

Innovation works best when lawyers, educators, legal specialists and technologists work together.

LawManage is built with the profession, not from it.

4. Growth With Purpose

Growth matters – but how we grow matters more. LawManage is committed to building technology that genuinely improves the practice of law.

We focus on:

  • Strengthening professional standards
  • Improving efficiency in legal practice
  • Supporting better outcomes for clients
  • Helping lawyers adapt to the future of the profession

Before building any new tool, we ask one simple question: Does this help lawyers practice better? If the answer is no, we do not build it.

5. Professional Integrity

Legal practice carries ethical responsibilities that technology must respect. LawManage designs tools that support those responsibilities, including:

  • Professional responsibility
  • Client confidentiality
  • Quality legal advice
  • Respect for the courts and the legal process

Technology should reinforce professional integrity, not weaken it.

6. Transparency

Trust in technology comes from understanding how it works. Lawyers should always know:

  • What our technology does
  • What it does not do
  • Where human judgement is required

We are committed to being open about:

  • How our AI tools operate
  • What data is used and why
  • The limits of automation in legal work

Legal professionals should never feel they are relying on a black box. Transparency builds trust.

7. Built for Lawyers

Many legal technologies are created without a true understanding of how lawyers actually practise. LawManage is different.

Everything we build is shaped by practising lawyers, educators, legal specialists, and professionals working inside the legal system every day.

Our goal is simple: technology that fits the way lawyers practise law. Not the other way around.

8. Profession-Aligned Investment

LawManage believes the future of legal technology should be shaped with the profession, not imposed upon it.

Where possible, we seek to partner with and source investment from:

  • The legal profession
  • Law-adjacent industries
  • Organisations connected to the administration of justice

This helps ensure the platform grows in a way that remains aligned with the values and needs of the legal community. Our goal is to build technology that serves the profession – not technology driven by pressures that conflict with it.

Our Commitment

The legal profession is evolving. Technology will play an important role in that future – but it must be guided by strong ethical principles.

The LawManage Ethical Charter reflects our commitment to building technology that:

  • Respects the profession
  • Protects clients
  • Supports lawyers
  • Strengthens the legal system

Responsible innovation is not optional in legal technology. For LawManage, it is foundational.
